Happy Eid Mubarak 1429 H We were celebrated Eid Mubarak 1429 H on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Islamic Centre, Springfield, Massachusetts. Beside SIT Student (Indonesia, Usbekistan and Morocco), there were AFS members from Indonesia too. It was 6 am from parking lot, and came home at 12 pm. We were thankful to SIT especially Tony that provided us van to go to Springfield at that moment. After praying, we went to Morroco Restaurant, and eaten 'halal food' with chicken and beef. Hmm ...delicious. In addition, I like Morocco mint tea. Not only that, but also we continued to make small party at Irfan's apartment. We were happy and enjoy the moment of Eid Mubarak. Happy Eid Mubarak 1429 H. Minal Aidin Wal Faidzin. Maaf Lahir Bathin Ya.

Three volunteers wore our traditional clothes. After presenting, many people asked questions about Indonesia. Not only did they ask about cultural traditions, but also about political issues such as respect human rights, and leadership. They were excited about Indonesia as a thousand islands with multicultural ethnic. Do you have question?

Yesterday I went to the Northampton Survival Center. The purpose of the survival centre is to help people who working, but they are still poor. Even though they have two jobs, the money can not cover their needs. For example: people who get payment with wage minimum. In the survival centre, people can register to become beneficiary. They have to show the proof that they are eligible for it. After processing, they can get food for their family. I saw many food there. Not only that, but also they can get utensil for house, clothes (for all seasons), and even books, etc. All of items there is free. Also, for pregnant women they can get coupon to take milk in stores. All of the food and other things came from donation. Because I include people who need help, I get some clothes for winter. However, I am not eligible for food. :) How is your areas ?

When my teacher said that we will have a class presentation, I directly gave my answer about the topic. I answered that the topic is about my beloved country INDONESIA. I created a power point file, add some pictures, browsing to the internet, and asked to my friends to help me to find out the beautiful traditional song. Then, we did it. It was a good topic about the fact of Indonesia. In fact, all of international students in my class asked about our country, the island, the tourism, the religions, the tribes, etc. I show the map, and the pictures even though I didn't use LCD projector. In the end, they were appreciated with the presentation what is about. As a result, they came over to me, or to other Indonesian students to know more, and they said that it was a great presentation. We should be proud as Indonesia people.

Before coming to US, I knew that is common for people to have a pet either dog or cat. One day, when my house mom went to another place for vacation, I take care of her cats. I don't mind, and I enjoy the time with the kitty. However, when I arrived from school the kitty was attacked by a dog. The kitty sick, and she can not standing. My house mom was very sad. The cat have been lived with her for 17 years. After several test, the kitty should get a surgery. As a result, my house mom brought her cat to the emergency hospital for pets in far away from the home. It was surprising that Kitty got 74 suture, and the cost was about $500! I want to add the kitty picture here, but I think few people probably don't like it. So, I can show you if you have request. OK
